Darondo - Treat you right [re-edit from some cyber dork]

Beanie Sigel - Purple Rain

Handsome Boy Technique - Walk across the Rooftops

1st: is 70's Bay Area soul singer's rare shit recently reissued by Ubiquity. It's a pretty quality album. This is some innanet guy's re-edit, pitching it up quite a bit and adding a break. Album version is a bit more subtle & sweet, but this remix is really nice.

2nd: Fucking awesome Beanie Sigel track about sippin drank (us white boys call it promythazine, apparently.). Samples an even doper track by Billy Wooten doing live rendition of "Walking in the Rain." [maybe Jersh can hook us up with that mp3]

3rd: The Avalanches Japanese understudies doing some interesting things outta Kyoto. Nothing super original, but not bad at all. The budding scene down there seems to be lead by this guy's label; Second Royal.

Chop your balls off,
//rew.

Oh yeah, and anyone know this Beatles song I'm thinking of? I heard it in a conbini the other day, but don't know it... it goes something like:

"you're in trouble, louise," or maybe its "louie" or fuck, I dont really remember, but if that somehow rings someone's bell.

Sounded Revolver-ish?

Yes. Darondo. He was a fucking PIMP. He had to be, because even though he opened for James Brown, and hung out with Sly Stone, his music didn't make him money. He was making money hanging with Fillmore Slim, driving around the Bay Area in his white Rolls Royce, with "Darondo" plates.
That song, on the American release, is titled 'didn't I', and it has been in heavy rotation around my brain, and stereo.
My favorite line of that song is when he sings,"Baby what's wrong? Let me share your toubles too"

Yeha, realized after posting that in only in my mind is that song called "Treat you right." It is in fact "Didn't I"

I Will play it tonight at valentiney themed event at SOFT, the bar at which you & Derek shocked the world with your drunk-krumping skillz.

Remember that? Dancing to that Kid Creole & The Coconuts song "I know... I'm curuuuupt"

That was awesome.

Probably play that Go Team 7" too, thanks a lot for that, Jerry. And that Band of Bees 10" will def. get UNLEASHED at an X-girl party next week.
