Deadly Medley

I picked up a few of Black Milk's records back when I was working at the Fetus, and this guy is one of the hottest producers out there, and his raps aren't bad either.

Cave

Hi. I no longer know the social-group implications of liking certain indie rock artists, but please enjoy the following tune. Does this make me square?

Making Music w/ Andrew Broder

I'm sure Ryan and Josh remember James (JG) Everest as the guy who booked shows and DJ's at the Dinkytowner ten years ago. For the last several years he's been doing these Making Music interviews at the U of M, and he gets some big names to show up, but in this clip it's local boy Andrew Broder of Fog, and he's demonstrating how he approached using the turntable and records as an instrument. I think it's great what he did with that old Japanese flute record.

GBV>SEA>MSP

Guided By Voices got the band back together and are hitting the road. I'm going out to Seattle for the October 9 show to see them. I know they're going to be in Minneapolis the next week, playing at First Ave, so if anyone is a fan, just a heads up.

Jordache Jacket

I found this jacket at a Goodwill, and took it to a wedding in Minneapolis a couple weeks ago. The jacket looks nice and all, but the real seller was that Jordache tag on the inside. I've been wondering if I can take it to a tailor just to have that tag enlarged.

Inside we're all the same

This was playing on the TV at the hotel I stayed at in Stillwater last weekend. This poor donkey gets thrown down a well, and then sings a song that sounds a lot like something the Eurythmics would come up with.
Watch from 2:06 to 5:58. it will change your life.

What The Hell Pantages?

I've been hooked on the Bill Burr Monday Morning podcast for, I don't know, the last two months? It was available on iTunes, then only through his website, then back on iTunes again. If you don't know it yet, then do yourself a favor and check it out.
Beyond that, I thought I'd mention he is doing a tour soon, and he's stopping in Minneapolis at the Pantages Theater. I've been thinking it might be a good reason to come out for the weekend. You know, see friends, go to a show, spend the weekend, and head back. I wouldn't even need to take any time off. But here is the deal breaker, Pantages is asking too fucking much for tickets. $237 is the most expensive, and $80 is the cheapest. Give me a break. How can they charge that? Is that even real? If it is, then there are only going to be about 20 people there. I bet someone at Pantages thinks Bill Burr is a top comedian or something. I gotta find out if those prices are right. If they are, then I'll just go check him out in Seattle in November, for $25 tickets.

Hey That's My Idea!

I've long joked around about my dream to become the man with the most children around the world. I mostly express this idea to the ladies in my life just to see what type of reaction they have. Um, so far they've all hated the idea, 100%, and most of them don't even think it's funny that I would joke about something like fathering hundreds of children throughout the world, but I find it's worth making them think I'm a dick just to see the look on their faces.
Anyway, this video of Antonio Cromartie explaining the virtues of being a good father while he struggles to remember the names of all his children, including his five or six 3 year-olds, well, it's just pure joy for me.

My Guns Look Marvelous

We're getting to that age where we really need to have "that talk", you know, the one about how we all really want to be gun owners.

* Also, I be bloggin' (kind of). See here.

And nice to meet many of you at Ryan's wedding. I'm looking forward to catching up again during the honeymoon.

See you at Lake Tahoe,

Betrothal Post

Hey I just thought it was a nice walk down memory lane, when i recently dug it up, I even thought about putting it in my set when I DJ at Ryan's Sanjikai on Sunday. Not even as a joke, but just because I was feeling it in my body so thoroughly..

Then I realized that would probably be a pretty bad idea..

Peter Cook performs "Bedazzled" - in STEREO!!!

This is from the shitty film "Bedazzled" starring Brenden Frazer and Elizabeth Hurley. Wait, no, this is from the hilarious film "Bedazzled" starring Peter Cook and Dudley Moore which was later remade into the shitty film "Bedazzled" starring Brendan Frazer and Elizabeth Hurley. Peter Cook's vocals are pretty damn funny, but the song itself is HOT HOT HOT! Oh late 60s aesthetic, how I wish you would return to us!

Paul McCartney and Wings - With a Little luck

I actually love this song, as I do many of P McC's, but the video is pretty hilarious (and actually quite sweet in a weird way...)

Paul Mccartney - Darkroom

Hello Heights Hooligans! For the past year or so I've been in a total McCartney McCraze, Wings and all! I know it's not everyone's cup of English Breakfast, but for those that wish to take a chance on The Cute One, I offer this. Presenting a puny piece of Paul paraphernalia, pulled from his prolific past, a personal partial prosthelytizing plea pushing Paul on pessimistic punters. A peak at Paul's prodigious presence, if you please. From his 1980 album McCartney II: Darkroom.
