And rather than wasting a post, I will use this oppurtunity to ask a computer questions. Sorry to stomp all over Mark's Birthday Party...

So, I bought a BUFFALO 250 GB external disk the other day. Its USB.
I want to send all torrents Im downloarding to that disk.

Using Azerus BT client and Mac OSx whatever is the newest one...10.4?

I have my internal harddisk partitioned to 2 parts. 1 has my OS and a few applications, desktop etc. Partitioned to about 6 Gigs. 2 has all my files, lots of apps, etc, which is like the remaining 54 gigs.

Whats up with external devices being routed through the hidden VOLUMES folder on your main disk? The folder I created on my External HD, NEW TORRENTS FOLDER, seems to be moved to the VOLUMES folder on my small #1 partition. When I set my clients default DL folder to NEW TORRENTS FOLDER, it recreates (?) the folder on my part. 1 and saves things there... Dunno what is going on.

I hope that made sense... Jon & Kyle, Im looking in your direction. And winking. But thats cause there was something in my eye, I swear.

So,if I drag and drop a big folder on my part.2 (REW2 MUSIC) for example, it transfers over (albeitn fucking slowly) just fine... but using my BT client to save on to the external as the default DL folder, it sends them all to part.1

anyone know what THE FUCK IS UP :OAHIFOINL!$??

I can't answer your question ryan... but kyle was just saying something to me the other day about how external harddrives can be tough to use regularly. I just got matt's old 40 gig external HD and I'm planning on only using it to backup my shit.

Ryan, I you have to run an archiving (sic?) program that will rout the information where it needs to be. I'm not so sure that you can easily run your external between various apps. w/o another program. I will have to do some info-gathering on this but I haven't been able to do anything like that with my exHD and iTunes or Limewire.

Happy bday mark! Are you 26y9m now. (life starts at conception, remember?)

P.T.L. -praise the lord-

Hah, seriosly, Im trying not to laugh out loud anymore here at work.
Damn you, Johnson.

So yeah, I guess that I will just have new DLs go straight to my partition 2 and then use the "move completed downloads" feature to zap them over to the ext. HD. If that will even work.

It was like $125-$140 for a 250 GB 7200 rpm ext. HD. pretty good, me thinks.
