Velo Fellow

So, three things: 1. I have been going to the bike track alot lately. 2. I haven't posted anything in 2006, I think. 3. I've been taking alot of photos lately as well So I'll combine the three... Apparently, the track in Blaine is the nicest one in the country. Super smooth, paneled cedar. Not to mention photogenic. Anywho, The season finnaly race is tonight and I am going. I'll post some photos and results tommorrow. Also, I am looking for a 56cm track frame. So if any of cyber nerds have a lead, send em my way. Go Landis.

wow, yeah... cedar? Awesome.
Ned, depending on what price you wanna pay, I can get you keirin (japanese track racing) frames here.
56cm is a bit tougher as 53-54 is the most common. But I will keep my cyber eyes peeled on the auction sites. You'd hafta pay hundreds of dollars, of course, but you know that.

Come visit Tokyo and we'll go watch some keirin and maybe you can come at the time when they do the bike swaps things and there's tons of cheap track frames and parts apparently.

Speak of satan, here's a SanRenSho (3連勝) in cromoly at 56cm.

I imagine this will go for 4 to 5 hundroid? Sanrenshos are hot stuff. Although I think the is just such a market for NJS and Keirin frames and parts that any japanese track bike is gonna cost a bit too much.

Here's a smaller Eimei that finishes in 13 hrs. already at over four hundred.

Are you riding that Rossin then?

Vagonto Raptors unite.
Are you guys getting divorced?

So... what's up with Glabe? Wanna hear from that buddy, my buddy.

Hey butties,
I just got WHAT DO YOU SAY TO A NAKED LADY sountrack LP the other day...so awesome, makes me want to see even more again.

Tonight was big show at UNIT in Daikanyama, things went quite well and now I'm xonked. Was good to hang with both Chrises, which doesnt happen so much. All post-Tacotown dudes were missed. We coulda used you Jason, Keith, & Josh.

And whilte I'm drunk, let me just add...saw SF (exCalciums) on Monday(海の日 - sea day? marine day? Seaworld?) and it was good. Umibachi opened, Jason, you know them? Saw Eiji for the first time in about 8 months, and he is now drumming for Umibachi and Henry is finished. Hadn't seen or listened to Henry since you were in it, but any meloncoly or nostalgia I felt for your former band was offset by the fact that Umibachi are pretty fucking good.

That didn't come out right, but. Saw that dude Cal in hisashiburi, he's a real nice dude.

Ok, I'm done. That's enough for public email. BUT since it just came on my headphones, here are the lyrics to RAPE, from the What Do You Say to a Naked Lady LP..

"Rape-its not as easy at it looks
Not like the way you read in books
-from the library-
In the corner of your room
where your Mother wouldn't see
-its a tragedy-"

Now that I think about it--kinda sounds like PULP!

I haven't been out to that track. I think you should bring me there sometime. Are there bikes to rent?

I know nothing of bikes but a smooth planks of cedar curving in unison sounds pretty darn beautiful to me.

Cal's a really nice guy.
Umibachi is great too, although they kind of get mixed up in my memory with a lot of other bands that seemed to have some interesting things going on musically but always remained halfway between going somewhere and never getting the hell out.
Nhhmbase or whatever is another such band. Maybe they're going somewhere now, I don't know. Tennis Courts also comes to mind. I would group Regent Slim in there as well but I knew them too well to get them confused with anybody.
Eiji would totally hate on me because I could never remember any of the band's fucking names - when really I had so many things working against me: 1) there are just SO many bands out there 2) alot of them sound a lot alike - especially playing in the spaces they play with the PAs they use and 3) I was usually extremely drunk.
I hope Umibachi makes it's way up there.
Have you ever seen 俺はこんなもんじゃない? I think...maybe...the guys doing that started Umibachi?...Maybe not...I give up.
What's Cal up to anyway?

Oh and hey - so are things patched up between Chris and the Bloody Dolphins - and did those little girls stay at his place?

Shit, I responded to this like a few days ago, but now it's not here.

Things aren't really patched up. Dai continues to be a real fucking weird stubborn old prick about the whole situation. Its a real bummer.
