So for some reason I am subscribed to this damn UK gossip email newsletter, and I actually read it. Today's had something interesting though:

robots. Except, you don't even bother going on
stage for every gig, you get two replacements
to work the pre-programmed synths etc.

I'd believe it. I remember years ago, I think it was NME had a story about Oasis and other massive UK bands who would often employ a look-a-like to fill in for a member when they were too fooked up just 'coodn't be bovered' to play.
That newsletter, Popbitch also had this:
