Bird Mimic/Spining Thing
I saw this on Sarah Johnson's myspace page.
It get pretty crazy.
This is another video you need to watch with sound.
Oh, and I don't know what's happening, but this thing is moving, right?

the lyrebird is awesome. I don't know if these guys are endangered...probably pretty safe to assume they are but I can't believe we haven't heard of someone really testing this bird to see what it can do. Where are the hilarious soundbites?
so you think it's actually making those chainsaw noises?
haha! You crazy Americans are great but sometimes i just feel sorry for you guys. I mean, in the great, vast, southern land where i was raised and home-schooled those birds are like a dime a dozen. We also have the Bowerbird that's nuts for the color blue. What a country!! It's like what we lack in freedom we make up for in birds. How sweet it is.
P.S: What's a 'dime'?
Them birds are bonkers!
The blue ones too. What the heck.
Wow, I don't know if I know who Sarah Johnson is...but all day I've been reading that as:
Scarlett Johanson's myspace page.
Yeah, I wonder what Scarlett Johanson has planned for the weekend?
oh, and they really make the chainsaw sounds? I thought this was a joke video at first
Wow scarlett, did that guy just go in for the grab, or what?
For Real and For Ever!!!!
Jason, i love how into the Lyrebird you are. It's very appealing.
I wonder if anyone has taught this creature to say words.
That's a genius idea. I could think of one or two words i'd like to teach that creature... if it would be willing to learn.
...you would want this bird to say Schwing?
Not very appealing.
Each to their own my four eyed friend, but yes, i want that bird to say Schwing.
that bird is great. someday when i am a rich eccentric tycoon living up in the hills and playing a gold plated version of the LIFE board game all day with my orangutan friend, i will have a lyrebird in a room making beats and composing melodies.
then after i have loaded him up with samples, me & the lyrebird will go on tour as "Lyrebird", ten times better than the indierock whiners Liarbird could ever have hoped to be. And our posters will be fantastical sci-fi renditions of the lyrebird, all done in oil paint.
Wildcat, that's visionary and all but would the bird still be able to say Schwing? I really want it to say Schwing.
that bird will only say schwing when it's appropriate... like when it gets a boner.
Sweet Dude.
