For the J-Literate idiots

Most guys that are record nuts or work at stores read English to learn about the music they love. When they write about music they drop TONS of English keywords (written in Katakana) to promote the record, persuade the customer, whatever. It's super common to see Japaneseisizeded "Rea!" (rare),"Guruubu!" (groove) or "fankee" (fonkaayyyy [Cameo voice]) at most shops or in magazines.
But this Japanese review of my favorite 12" of late ("Let me do It" by HALO) really cracked me up. It's like 90% Japanenglish hybrid music buzzwords...
オリジナルは45'Sオンリー、フロム・カリフォルニアのインディペンデント・レーベルからほぼプライベート・プレス・オンリーでリリースされた(らしい...)オブスキュア・モダン・ソウルのモンスター・シングルHALO / LET ME DO ITが12"サイズでヴァイナル・リイシュー!クラップも交えたミッド・ブギー・トラックにスペイシーなウワモノからホーンを交えた爽快なウェスト・コースト・モダン・ソウル~ディスコ・チューン。そしてフリップサイドにはなんとEXTENDED DISCO VERSIONを収録!

We've neither verified nor can vouch for any of the following information, but..."at least that's what they tell us!"

Although, 冗談抜きで (to borrow an expression from Nelly "Nelz" Nelson) the details are fuzzy on original release numbers and methods of distribution.

Guess I ought go ahead and post that batch up.

Let me just transcript all the katakana "loan words" from this review for those that don't read, and you'll see that all the relevant info is there... this need hardly be written in Japanese!

ORIGINAL ONLY FROM CALIFORNIA INDEPENDENT LABEL PRIVATE PRESS ONLY RELEASE OBSCURE MODERN SOUL MONSTER SINGLE 12" SIZE VINYL REISSUE CLUB Mid BOOGIE TRACK SPACEY HORN WEST COAST MODERN SOUL DISCO TUNE FLIPSIDE extended disco version.

I just thought this was kinda funny, no complaints or anything.
