holyshit. my computer died last week and I haven't been up on my news... looks like they've been released now, though.
Here I was thinking the RNC and St. Paul were going to be uneventful in reverence of GUSTAV..
Wow. I biked over there yesterday and it was impossible to get within even 4 blocks of the Xcel Center. I didn't see much protesting. In the lawn in front of the capital there were maybe 200 people just hanging out, it looked more like a family reunion than a protest. They weren’t even allowing any buses to go downtown, which has got to be problematic for anyone who lives there and doesn’t own a car. Apparently there was a march earlier in the day where a hundred or so people were arrested.
I don't know for sure, but was this around the same time as the other 294 people got arrested?
