May as well...

This was right next to the smarties vid. I usually don't post much architecture stuff, but this one is pretty cool I think. I'm not much into these houses that people build in the middle of an empty field with short grass and picture-perfect trees (and there are plenty), because I can't imagine a lifestyle so impossibly chic.

"Puff Daddy invited us to play in his new ball-pit, the balls are made of gold." he says. "Hmm, I don't know I just played in David Blaine's gold ball-pit last week, and anyway, we have ten-acres of grass to mow and there's no food for miles. I've been eating cocktail olives and ice for three days...

Do we still call this modern? Did we ever?

To me, it's funny how a function over form style turned into something for the wealthy. If anything public housing should value durable materials over useless ornamentation... which I guess it does sometimes.

I realize this house doesn't exactly fit this description. But didn't stuff like bauhaus attempted to make beautiful the materials and function of a building, right? Well, i guess it's weird that that style turned into shit like this house.

It is a bit contradictory I agree. To take a look at my ultra cheap apartment building, for an example, is to see plastic wood, fake granite, and all other manner of faux. Is it aspirational?
I dunno, but those engineers got paid.
