Bird Flu...

Hey, what masks can keep out influenza virus?
I heard N-95 Masks, or some thing like that.

I have this really cocky and extraordinarily unrealistic idea in my head that if I caught the bird flu I could beat it.

i dunno. I'm still confilcted on this. In fact, one lab recently tried to infuse genes from the 1918 outbreak INTO the bird flu strain to see if it could handle the genes responsible for human to human infection. It couldn't, and it died. That doens't mean that it can't happen ever, but it does suggest that the mutation process would not go real smoothly. That's also apparent because we're not all dead from this yet. These things are notoriously hard to figure out as far as mode of transmission, espeically in some backwater town in Indonesia. Maybe they were all fucking the family duck and just wouldn't cop to it; you never know. Only time will tell, but if this thing hits, Ryan, you should be on the first plane out of Asia, and back to Minnesota, where nothing ever goes wrong.
