Today Gyorgy Ligeti died. He was a composer, composed most of the tracks on the soundtrack of 2001: A Space Odyssey...although not the theme track.
Pretty experimental, here's a piece called Artikulation
And while I'm using YouSendIt, I also sent our good friend Gucci a bunch of old monster-vision tracks he might not already have had, so anyone interested, knock yourself out:

I haven't gotten to listen to this Ligeti yet, but maybe tonight. Lookingforward do the Monster Vision too.
Here's Hakozaki-Kun's tribute, I guess, to Ligeti?

He's playing next month at some new place called BULL, I think, in Shiboobs. I've never heard of it, but he said its immigrantsppoi. I'll DJ with Michael J. Fox, and to compete with his catchy moniker, will dub myself
DJ ヨン様BIN LADIN
no not really.
will check out Hakozaki's music. should have figured he would know and like Ligeti enough to offer up a tribute.
you should at least keep the ヨン様.
there are so many great 日本語based DJ names just waiting to be used.
yeah, like DJ Dekinai, which I thought was really funny, but Gucchon wasn't at all impressed.
DJ Suru Tsumori
DJ Yameru
And, I think this is great but would cause so much confusion on fliers:
DJ 募集中
DJ Darui
DJ Zurui
DJ MisuDo
DJ 募集中is good.
DJ Dame
DJ Mawasu
DJ Donburi
DJ Kankei
DJ 肉体
DJ Gaijin
the list is endless but any and all are sure to go unappreciated by even the most withit Japanese dudes.
Have issues with poking at their own language? Why do I feel everyone is terribly embarrased about Japanese when it comes to anything that is not 100% traditional?
Although I did convice Gtn to name the monster-vision edit 博物学, "Natural History". Still, I guess that's more on the end of thoughtful or serious.
Kinda know whatcha mean. Yokke's often good for that though. They must not be into making the fun with the Engrish either:
My friend mailed me today regarding an advertisement today their doing for a line of doggie wear (pretty serious fashion here in JPN, for those that didn't know).
"Does 'FOR HAPPY DOG LIFE' sound good?" She asked.
Yeah, I mean, it sounds fucking awesome and all, but she wouldn't consider my much better suggestion, "FOR A REAL HOT-DOG."
Also, for those mac dudes interested in graphic software...I'm putting up a bundle for J$, so holla if you want the link for a Creative and Sweet software package--perfect for Illustrators and Photographers...all without Shopping
"For A Real Hot Dog" is much funnier, especially to those who read English and understand American culture. Are they trying to sell these in the states? Probably not. They could probably put anything ni English on those shirts and sell them. That's nice, but really they should begin collaborating with English Gaijin to make them omoshiroi in both english & nihongo.
Too bad our sense of humor rarely translates to our J friends.
Hopefully in the future someone will invent a device that allows people from different cultures to insert a chip in their brain and automatically become updated on another culture's pop history, so we can all get each other's contextual humor. Except Mexico. We all know what they think is funny.
DJ Kanashibari
(DJ Sleep Paralysis)
Dude, I am a serious gas on either continent.
DJ 超ベリグット
The "You Suck." crew guys are good with the goofin'. Necktie-san is also pretty sharp.
There is a Canadian dude here with a band called:
自殺したいけど明日仕事
ehhhh, tepid.
