Funkin' for J-money

Here is a 懐かしい track for Jason and I:
Towa Tei: Funkin' For Jamaica [Boris Dlugosch and Michi Lange's Reprise]

And for good measure, here's the Tom Browne original version.
(Sorry for the tinny highs and glaring mids-but at least you got dems boomin' bass bwoy)

Speaking of natsukashii, as I was recording this I got a call from J-beef! Haven't seen that guy in a couple years.

I remember playing this record at roku-roku-modern. That was the first night we met Shinya. It was later stolen from me from Cafe Bed, along with that Avalanches single Electricity with that Ernest St. Lauren remix. rats!

Oh man, I still love this version. A large part I imagine is just the nervous youthful excitement it digs up from that first year.
Adventure!

What's beefun up to?
He was always ready to have fun - and get very very drunk.
Tell him I say hi.

Yes, this song and Happoushu.

And McD & G's Birdman.
and that Sounddust song with the horns.

JBeef is married to Mariko! and they live in Yokohama. Dunno much else except he's having a party in two months and wanted to send an invitation. Also hunged out with Mitsu and Gen Chan on Sat. night, so more 2002 memories.
