Garnett to Boston

Although not yet official, word is Garnett has been traded to Boston for something along the lines of Al Jefferson, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff and a Draft Pick. Details are still being finalized and then need league approval, but more or less, it's a done deal.

Boston is going to have a killer team with Ray Allen, KG, and Pierce. That's an eastern conference contender right there.

I've heard a lot of people saying the KG trade will be good for the wolves, but I'm not so sure. I think that deep down McHale (general mismanager McFail) is still a Celtic. He’s a mole in our organization. I’m excited to have Jefferson on our squad, I think he could be something special… he’ll never amount to a KG. But the last couple seasons it didn’t even seem like KG could amount to a KG, at least not with the supporting cast that McHale put around him. I’m still excited to see what MN will be like next season, but I’m almost more excited to see Boston murder the eastern conference.

I totally agree Derek... and now that the trade's been made, i've just read that the draft picks traded to the T-Wolves exclude any future top 3 picks, which is a total sucker move on behalf of McHale. I mean, Jefferson i like enough, but as for old man Ratliff and the lucky dip of under developed players Boston passed Minnesota's way, it just seems like the Celtics totally got the better of the deal, particularly as they didn't have to part with either Pierce or Allen. The other thing i don't get is why McHale made this trade so far into free agency, particularly as the move has apparently put them under the cap, with no one decent left on the market. (Oh and don't forget at the start of free agency McHale passed up a Bulls offer that included Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas and Draft picks - better than the Boston trade you say? McHale must go).

Anyways... at least it's a long over-due change for the Timberwolves... I hope something good can come out of it, like the emergence of Iguodala after the 76er's Iverson trade. I also think Corey Brewer was a good draft choice for the Twolves so fingers crossed.

And go Celtics! I love KG, and with all the hard work he, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce have put into dud teams over the years i really hope they do well too.

yeah, I hope that the t-wolves get something good from these new guys.

If I'm still in mpls during next season I'll for sure by a ticket when the Celtics come to town. That'll probably be the only game that sells out the target center next year... now that there's no more big ticket.

but whatever... I'm happy for Kevin. I hope he gets a ring in the next couple years.
