Environmental All-stars
Man, no wonder we're not doing anything significant about the crisis our planet faces. Nobody important ever talks about it!

Don't Fear the Reaper
If you feel like picking up a British magazine in the near future Aya and I have had illustrations published in the past two issues of Plan B. These two are only for music reviews (Death Sentence: Panda, !!! and Tussle) but I think we are slowly working our way up to bigger pieces.
The next issue, for instance, we did an illustration for Blue Oyster Cult.
My home life and work life have been laying death and sickness on me pretty hard and heavy lately and it has been good to have various projects to focus on. That and strong doses of Japanese psychedelic rock and Peruvian 5-octave-spanning vocalists.
How's everyone dealing with the daily toil of the mortal coil?
Yma Sumac - Chuncho
Ghost - Hazy Paradise

Petey Greene - How to Eat Watermelon
Now, I'm pretty sure this video's seen some Forest Heights airtime before. What I didn't realize is that this guy has a real story to tell. At least enough of one to warrent a biopic with Don Cheadle and Chiwetel Ejiofor...

day off
monday and tuesday are my days off. it's kind of nice to have the first two weekdays of work off, because even though i work at 10am on both saturday and sunday, it still feels like an extended weekend or a snow day, while all the other suckers are working I wander the nooks & crannies of the city on my own with no obligations..
Chromatics - In The City
I'm staying at ryan's place temporarily, and have the pleasure of perusing through his record collection all day while he's at work making cheddar cheese. he's picked up alot of jams recently, and i thought i would catalog a few of them, in case any of you don't have them...
one that recently arrived at his door is either an original pressing or a very authentic looking reissue of a 45 by The Nerves.
The Nerves - Hanging on the Telephone
The Nerves - When You Find Out
They were a mid 70's power pop band, and they seemed to fit right between the Zombies, The Sonics (60's garage) and The Wipers ('Is This Real?' 1979), who Jared introduced me to on a mixtape he gave me 4 years ago.
The Wipers - Mystery
I still have the mixtape with the song 'Mystery' on it, in a box in my basement in av.
I went to Tsutaya, the Japanese blockbuster and rented Harmony Korrine's Gummo and Julien Donkey Boy the other day, both on video. This song reminds me of the large albino girl from Xenia, Ohio in the film who was born without toes, is looking for a man with brown, blue or any color of eyes and would pay money to touch Patrick Swayzey.
Raymond Scott - Tempo Block
..composed by Raymond Scott, friend of Bob Moog's, designer of the Clavivox and the Electronium, his music was licensed for use in Jim Henson's early films and cartoons such as Loony Tunes, The Simpsons and Ren & Stimpy...
Raymond Scott - Cindy Electronium
(note to Mark Swanson: if you're reading this, you know that mixtape on a gorgeous orange, tan and powder blue Maxell cassette that I left with you before going to Japan? If you still have this tape, please don't feed it to Buddy or let your mom stow it away and horde it in her armegeddon preparation shelter aka 'snack room')

Snow Day
Miles received a ticket during last weeks snow emergency. I warned him about it too, but he didn't listen.
Young Jeezy - I Luv It.mp3 (zShare)
He's lucky the city didn't just tow his ass. I thought they would, but I guess they don't do too much towing out where I live.
Wu-Tang Clan - Ain't Nuthin' To Fuck With (Bird Peterson remix).mp3 (zShare)
Everyone has been doing a lot of shoveling. Just this morning, a lady was walking her dog down Lyndale ave. I stopped shoveling to say "hi", and she responded with, "I'm trying to walk a route where people have already shoveled." Understandable, but good luck lady. I'm mean, it did just snow something like 15". I bet she was the bitch that called the city on us, months ago, for not having shoveled.
The Rapture - W.A.Y.U.H. (people don't dance no more).mp3 (zShare)
Miles & I went out to breakfast at Victor's this morning.
Pop Levi - Blue Honey.mp3 (zShare)
A Cuban style breakfast just sounded really good on a snow covered day-off work.
Explosions in the
Sky - Catastrophe and the Cure (four tet mix).mp3 (zShare)
Right next me was some scribe that read "Kelli N Samahra will ruin your life"
I thought, "that's true", and snapped a photo.
The Good The Bad & The Queen - Herculean.mp3 (zShare)
Miles pulled out this photo of me, and left it at Victor's. I think he's had that photo in his wallet for 6 years now.
Beck - O Menina.mp3 (zShare)
