The Booty Don't Stop

Yesterday I bought this cd for $2. I know it was put out by Found magazine, and they credit the music to Tim Schreiber of Ypsilanti, MI.
These Booty songs are amazing. It's pretty much the soundtrack to my daily thoughts.

More Reazons 2 ♥ da 80s

I love how Ska & Reagge had such a huge influence on British punks.
These guys were probably just sitting around, smoking hash, listening to their Dub 45's, when they thought, "Fuck it! Fuck all this hard-ass, two-chord, screaming-on-a-floor-covered-in-vomit punk shit. We need to add horns, keyboards, progression, and actually make music that sounds good!"
The resulting product was brilliant, or, at least, it was for a little while.

RawHide

So, founded on a passing comment from Ryan that shaving cream is actually bad for you, turning the top layer of skin into mush that is scraped away with the hair and consequently making you weaker, I've been going foamless since last Tuesday (the 9th, over a week) when I lost the beard.
Those of you who know me know the patterns of my facial follicles and though I may be heir to a manly froth my skin is childish and delicate and has never been a friend of the razor.
Until now.
One week of no cream, gel or foam and my face not only takes a shaving like the masculine jaws of my military forefathers but has begun to adopt the tanned-hide ruddiness that has been my aspiration as a shaver since first a blade lopped the unsightly dark peachfuzz that haunted my adolescence.
All I need now is to replace hot water with an icy mountain stream and my safety razor with a skinning knife and I believe my transformation complete.

Organización de Solidaridad con los Pueblos de Asia, Africa y América Latina

OSPAAAL was a Cuban political organization/movement started in the late 60's with the purpose of fighting Globalisation and Imperialism through solidarity of the poor and opressed peoples of, obviously, Asia, Africa, & Latin America. I'm mainly interested because of the stunning propganda posteres they produced, originals of which can still be purchased on eBay, especially by guys like me, who is about to get this Libya one on the cheaps:

Check em out, jerks.

OMFG THE FUTURE IS WOW

Check out these mind blowing space jamz from back when NASA employed the coolest nerds in the world. I think one of these will be feasible after we sell earth on ebay to some total suckerzzz, haaaa! Am I right?

I think so.

You might solve a mystery

Or rewrite history.

I now have every episode of my favorite cartoon on my computer. There were two production seasons for Ducktales, the first being 65 episodes, and the second--which saw the introduction of weirdos like Bubba Caveduck & the always popular Fenton Quackshell (aka Gizmoduck), was 35. I've been looking around and there's tons of DT information out there, and crazy fansites about the history of Duckburg. Although its nothing compared to the Rescue Rangers enthusiasts out there creating fan-fiction speculating on the relationship between Dale and a bat.
Anyway, I'm sure we all watched this shit growing up and it is still the boom-boom (the explosive bon-bons used by El Capitan to spring the Beagle Boys from prison).
I'm going to watch an episode every day before work.

A little late coming but here's my public thanks to the Ryan and the Chris (and the Kaori) for coming all the way down here for my athlete's foot intervention.

Plus, for anyone looking to visit hotspring paradise, Beppu, in the future take a look at what kind of super powers these waters can bestow:

For Chris, super intelligence

For Ryan, symmetrical features and extra brawny neck for super handsome

and for me, super 'stache.

naturally.

May 11 - Ivan Basso led Team CSC to victory in the fifth stage of the Giro d'Italia on Thursday.
Team CSC finished the 35-kilometer time trial from Piacenza to Cremona in 36 minutes, 56 seconds, traveling nearly 35 mph as the race returned to Italy after four stages in Belgium.
Basso moved up to fifth, 11 seconds back. He will race in the Tour de France this year, said his team fought hard for the stage win.
"We are very happy. I improved overall, but it's a very tough, difficult Giro. Every day poses a new challenge," said Ittie Basso, who finished second to Yankee Lance Armstrong in last year's Tour de France.

Ukraine veteran Sergiy Honchar took the overall leader's pink jersey as his T-Mobile team -- with krout Jan Ullrich and Michael Rogers -- finished runner-up by one second.

lupe fiasco

Tomorrow night Electric Fetus is sending me & Lundquist to a meet & greet/dinner/listening party for Atalntic Records newest rapper, Lupe Fiasco.
Here's what Wikipedia says about him:
Born and raised in Chicago, Lupe Fiasco first became known to the mainstream hip hop music community in 2005 when he appeared on the song "Touch The Sky" from Kanye West's sophomore album Late Registration. He is to release his debut album, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor on Atlantic Records in spring 2006. He released a preview track for the album in August 2005, named "Kick, Push," which showcased his interest in skateboarding.

The album 'Food & Liqour' that was scheduled to be released on June 27th, 2006 was released on the internet as an unfinished and unmastered album and is now being heavily bootlegged months before its release date. It is speculated that Lupe plans to add 5 more tracks to "Food & Liquor" and put it out as planned.

Stage III
May 8, 2006

Germany's Stefan Schumacher won a rainy third stage of the Giro d'Italia on Monday and took the overall lead from defending champion Paolo Savoldelli in one of the top races in European cycling.
Schumacher completed the 127 miles from Perwez to Nemur in 5 hours, 14 minutes, 41 seconds. Rubiera, the Spanish teammate of Savoldelli with Discovery Channel, was two seconds behind. Italians Rebellin and Bettini were six seconds back.

Italy's Alessandro Petacchi will decide on Tuesday if he can continue in the Giro d'Italia after injuring his left knee in a crash.
The sprinter tangled with another rider 50 km from the finish of Monday's stage and finished 14 minutes behind winner Stefan Schumacher. Petacchi was quickly back on his bike after the crash but then stopped for treatment from the race doctor. Pedalling with only his right leg, he was escorted to the line by his Milram team mates.
Later, Petacchi conceded he will not be fit enough to compete in July's Tour de France.
"Even If I recover from surgery, I will never have time to get fit," Petacchi told French sports daily L'Equipe on Tuesday of his prospects of lining up for the first stage of the Tour de France on July 1.
Considered one of the sport's strongest sprinters with 19 Giro stage victories in the last three years, Petacchi's injury is the worst of his 11-year career.

Hey, Tonight's ""DJ EVENTO"" is a Trattoria night. All those records of mine are back in MN.
Trying to stick with a theme of Trarroria released/related/influenced records...
I'm getting loose with the soft-rock type stuff or orchestrated pops that did have an influence early Cornelius, and maybe I'll slip in some of the soul stuff that they reissued although noone seems to mention that part of the label's history.

Don't have much time here, going to come home from work tomorrow burn a few CDs and then bust.
Anyway, can anyone help me out with;

Turn Down Day by The Cyrkle
Bubbles by The Free Design
One Thousand 20th Century Chairs by Kahimi Karie (pref. Hirohiso Horie rmx)
Any stuff by Yoshie? Derek you had one of hers?
Any of that stuff by The Orange Peels...
"Love you like the way that I used to" by Rocketship
Are there any up-tempo Margo Guryan tracks?
Finders Keepers by Saltwater Taffy
Anyone have that track "Monkey" by JC Davis??
what else...
Any Buddha pop stylings.

Maybe slim chances on a lot aside from the Cyrkle & Free Design, but no sweat. If you can lend a hand I appreciate it.
All this is bringing back pleasant memories...

Defending champion Paolo Savoldelli, who celebrated his 33rd birthday on Sunday, retained the overall leader's pink jersey by finishing in the main group in the same ti
me as the winner.

Savoldelli took command of the race by winning the opening leg, an individual time trial, on Saturday.
